Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) gained the entire classification on the Etoile de Bessèges within the south of France, going deep within the ultimate time trial to carry off Kévin Vauquelin (Arkéa-B&B Accommodations).
The French rider gained the ten.6km time trial across the village or Arles, impressing at the climb as much as the end.
Vauquelin set a time of 15:02 however began the time trial 12 seconds in the back of Pedersen within the GC. The Dane set a time of 15:12 and so gained general via simply two seconds.
EF Training-Easypost packed the highest ten within the time trial and Alberto Bettiol completed 3rd in a time of 15:11 and so 3rd general at 32 seconds.
Ben Healy was once fourth at the level and so fourth general, at 43 seconds.

Pedersen pulled at the orange race winner’s jersey in central Arles. He gained level 2 in Rousson, was once 2nd the day after in Besseges after which 2nd within the ultimate time trial. He’s the primary Dan to win the entire classification of the early-season level race.
He’ll now goal the four-day Excursion de l. a. Provence that begins in the similar house of France on February 8 with a five-kilometre time trial round Marseille.
