Osorio beats Higuita and Bernal to win Colombian highway race championship

Alejandro Osorio (GW Erco Shimano) stored slightly further in his legs from an early breakaway and outlasted Sergio Higuita (Bora-Hansgrohe) and Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) to win his first Colombian nationwide name. He finished the 212.5km highway race path in 4:53:23, with simply 4 seconds to spare to the WorldTour chasers.

Cristian Camilo Muñoz (Nu  Colombia) led a trio of riders strung out a couple of seconds later after which Osorio’s teammate Fabian López 46 seconds again for 7th. The decimation of the peloton was once glaring as the remainder of the highest 10 was once no longer determined for 3 mins after Osorio crossed the road, and the stability of riders strung out for any other quarter-hour.
